AOBA Shows: Elevating Animal Excellence in Africa

At AOBA, we are committed to promoting excellence and preserving the heritage of rare and high-quality animals across Africa. To achieve this, we proudly introduce two distinct types of shows that provide opportunities for breeders at every stage of their journey: AOBA National Evaluation Shows and the prestigious AOBA International Championships.

1. AOBA National Evaluation Shows

The AOBA National Evaluation Shows are specifically designed for new members of the club who are starting their journey as breeders. These shows provide a platform for participants to showcase their animals—such as poultry, livestock, and other species—that have not yet been registered with official AOBA ring numbers.

Purpose:

To evaluate and assess the quality of breeding animals for the first time.

To provide breeders with valuable feedback and guidance on improving their stock.

To qualify their animals for official AOBA rings, ensuring they meet the club’s high standards.

Process:

Breeders present their animals for evaluation by an expert panel of foreign judges.

Animals deemed to meet AOBA’s elite standards will allow their offspring to be registered with AOBA Official Rings.

These rings signify the quality and credibility of AOBA-certified breeding stock.

Location:
National Evaluation Shows can be organized in any participating African country, making them accessible to breeders across the continent.

2. AOBA International Championships

The AOBA International Championships represent the pinnacle of animal showcasing in Africa. Only animals registered with official AOBA Rings are eligible to compete, ensuring the highest level of quality and standards.

Purpose:

To celebrate the best of AOBA-certified animals in an international setting.

To provide breeders with a platform to compete at the highest level and gain recognition for their efforts.

To bring together breeders from across Africa in a celebration of excellence and preservation.

Key Details:

Minimum participation: 3,000 animals per championship.

Judging by an esteemed panel of foreign experts to maintain fairness and uphold international standards.

These championships are hosted in three exclusive locations, each representing a key region in Africa:

  • West Africa: Lagos, Nigeria
  • Central Africa: Kinshasa, Congo
  • East Africa: Nairobi, Kenya
How It Works
  1. Begin with National Evaluation Shows:
Breeders present their animals for their first official assessment at a National Evaluation Show. Animals that meet the standards are approved for official AOBA Rings.
  2. Progress to International Championships:
With animals registered and ringed by AOBA, breeders qualify to participate in the International Championships.
  3. Achieve Global Recognition:
Compete against the best breeders in Africa and showcase elite animals in front of an international audience.
Why Participate?
  • For Beginners: Gain valuable feedback and insights to improve your breeding practices.
  • For Experienced Breeders: Compete at the highest level and gain international recognition for your work.
  • For All: Be part of an exclusive community that values excellence, heritage, and preservation.
