Jean Kiala-Inkisi: A Leading Voice in the World of Animal Breeding and Conservation

Jean Kiala-Inkisi is the founder and president of the African Ornamental Breeders Association (AOBA) and serves as its representative in Central Africa. As a renowned international judge, he actively participates in a wide range of specialized breeding programs, including goats, sheep, poultry, and game animals. With his expertise and passion, he plays a pivotal role in the conservation and promotion of rare and endangered animal breeds.


International Recognition and Expertise

Jean is internationally recognized as a judge for various animal species, including:

  • Djallonke goats and sheep (through the International Studbook for Djallonke).
  • European poultry breeds, such as La Flèche and White-faced Black Spanish.
  • African poultry breeds, including Cou Nu de Madagascar.
  • Asian poultry breeds, such as Ayam Cemani, Gà H’Mông, Satsumadori, Sumatra, Yokohama, and Onagadori.
  • Domesticated waterfowl, including the rare Kholmogory goose.


Additionally, he serves as a board member of the International Onagadori Working Group and is a member breeder of various specialized breeding associations, such as V.I.V.F.N. Belgium and the Belgian Game Fowl Club.


A Pioneer in Breeding

Jean combines his knowledge with a unique vision for conservation and diversity in breeding. He has raised numerous rare breeds and manages some of the largest collections globally:

  • Djallonke sheep since 2019.
  • Ayam Cemani and other Asian chicken breeds.
  • La Flèche chickens.
  • Malines chickens.
  • Brakel chickens.
  • Bruges Fighter Fowl: guardian of 60% of the global population, with 500 chickens.
  • Waasse Bantam: guardian of 50% of the global population, with 100 chickens.
  • Onagadori: owner of the largest collection outside Japan, with 250 specimens.
  • Kholmogory geese.
  • Dutch Helm Pigeon: breeder of this extremely rare species.

As the founder of AgriKongo DRCongo, Jean is committed to promoting sustainable agricultural and breeding practices in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
